Frequently Asked Questions
1 |
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO REGISTER MY CHILD? Each of our member teams are
independently operated, and have varying components to their programs, and
different fee structures that are not controlled by The Federation. You
should contact any team you are interested in and make your inquiry directly
with them for current information. |
2 |
HOW DO I SIGN MY CHILD UP? Required registration forms are
available on our website [HERE]. Determine
which of our member teams you would like to participate and contact them
directly for detailed instructions. Be sure to ask any questions regarding
their programs, team fees, and any other concern relevant to you. |
3 |
WHAT DOCUMENTATION DO WE NEED TO PROVIDE FOR
REGISTRATION? Along with the Federation’s
Registration Forms, each player must also provide an original birth
certificate, a copy of their latest report card, and a recent personal
photograph. Cheer participants must also provide a copy of their birth certificate
and a recent photograph. Birth certificates can be substituted with a current
U.S. Passport or State-issued ID Card. “Birth Facts” as issued by
hospitals in Texas are NOT acceptable forms of documentation. |
4 |
IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS
LEAGUE? Our programs are designed for youth
football players ages 4-12 and cheerleaders ages 4-13. All age considerations
are as of July 31st of the current year. |
5 |
WHEN DOES THE SEASON START AND WHEN CAN I
REGISTER? The regular season games start in
early September. However, formal practice sessions start in June. Player and
cheerleader registration typically starts in February, and runs through
August. |
6 |
IS MY 7TH GRADER PERMITTED TO PLAY FOR
HIS MIDDLE SCHOOL AND IN THE FEDERATION? Yes. The Federation allows dual
participation for those participants who desire to compete in the league. While
we endorse kids to play for their schools (to gain familiarity with the
coaches), we recognize that we provide more opportunities to play the game,
for growth/learning and an overall better experience. |
7 |
WHAT SET OF PLAYING RULES ARE
USED? The Federation uses the NCAA rule
book as a base. These are the same rules applied by the Texas UIL, which
governs middle and high school competition. We applied limited modifications
to the NCAA rules to take into account several safety factors considering the
young ages of our players. |
8 |
HOW OFTEN ARE PRACTICE SESSIONS? Each of our member teams sets their
own practice schedules. However, they must comply with a few parameters set
forth by the Federation. (1) Practices during the summer can be held up to 5
days a week, no more than 2 hours a day, (2) Within two weeks of the
beginning of school, practices are limited to 3 days a week, no more than 2
hours a day. |
9 |
WHERE CAN WE FIND THE PLAYING RULES? A brief summary of our playing rules
can be found on our website [HERE]. The
official playing rules are distributed to the teams via their President.
Coaches and staff can obtain a copy by requesting it from their team
president. |
